Valeggio sul Mincio Tour

Let's discover Valeggio sul Mincio and surroundings!

Wine, Gourmet, Nature and History, this territory offers a kaleidoscope of emotions!
Themed itinerary or multi-theme ones, let yourself advise between the various proposals!

Valeggio sul Mincio is very interesting also for wine lovers, due to its location between Bardolino and Custoza wine regions. Corvina and Rondinella are the native red grape varieties used to produce red and rosé wines and Garganega is the white grape that is worked together with small percentage of international varieties.

A wine cellar tour is of course unmissable, in order to really appreciate the traditions of this territory and what a glass of wine can gift you. We can for example enjoy a fruity Chiaretto rosé wine lakefront or a fresh Custoza on the morainic hills or furthermore a completely Bardolino wine tasting in a barrique-cellar.

Tortellini, called also “nodi d’amore” (love knots) are not only a special kind of filled pasta but the real symbol of Valeggio sul Mincio. During this gourmet experience, you can enjoy them as well as tasty fresh water fish dishes and delicious typical desserts such as Torta delle Rose. I will guide you to discover real authentic tastes, suggesting you restaurants and trattorias where the recipes are still the original one and tourist menù are forbidden.

If you would like to travel a little bit more, I will really glad to go with you to Isola della Scala, where you can visit rice producers, walking along their fields and tasting their famous creamy risotto "al tastal".

As a matter of fact I believe that the more fascinating feature of our italian culinary history is that you can find uncountable gourmet identities really closed one each others.

From filled pasta to risotto, in order to live a wonderful food experience!

You can enjoy the nature of Valeggio sul Mincio in different ways, just with a relax walk along Mincio River or riding bike. It is lively when the sun looks itself into the river, it becomes more romantic during sunset, with the hills covered by vineyards and peach fields.

Valeggio sul Mincio is fascinating also in winter, with a light fog that transforms the landscape in something magic.

Furthermore in my town is located a famous garden, that has won the title “Parco più bello d’Italia”, thanks to the fact that it’s a real example of nature transforming into art.

The urban design travels through the time line but the medieval mark is the stronger one.
But Valeggio sul Mincio is not only synonym of the Castle, even if it is maybe its better-known symbol.

This territory is really an outdoor museum, from neoclassical palaces to nineteenth-century buildings. Something special is also represented by the restored water mills of Borghetto sul Mincio, the small suburb that has won the national appellation “Borghi più belli d’Italia” (Most beautiful Italian village).
