The territory
History, nature and an exceptional wine & food culture, on the morainic hills between Lake Garda, Verona and Mantua.
The etymology of the name has not been confirmed yet, but I personally support those arguing that Valeggio sul Mincio comes from “Vale dium”, that means Gods’ Valley.
The village lies on the rounded morainic hills, crossed by river Mincio, a few kilometers from Lake Garda and from the famous cities Verona and Mantua.
Its old town is rich of beautiful views, which often have as background the Medieval Castle. Even on foot you can reach the village of Borghetto, ranked among the most beautiful Italian villages, thanks above all to the Visconti Bridge, the typical water mills and the romantic landscape.
Valeggio sul Mincio offers both history, nature and an exceptional wine & food culture, ranging from delicious handmade tortellini to quality wines such as Custoza DOC white wine and Bardolino DOC red wine.
